Welcome to the Greenough Archery Club inc web page. We are a insured affiliated club of ABA inc. We thank you for taking an interest in learning about field archery.
Field archery is different to target archery, in as much as it requires you to walk a course from target to target as you would on a golf course. The club has two main courses both approximately 1.5 klms long set out with 20 ABA targets each ranging in sizes which are shot at from various distances. Both courses are set amongst the sand dunes which abound with flora and fauna as well as scenic ocean views. A certain amount of fitness is required to walk our courses. The club offers opportunity for members to try different disciplines ranging from ABA and IFAA target faces to 3D animals. This type of archery can be a family sport or individual whichever suits. Field archery offers members competitions ranging from club level to state, national and international, so there is something for everyone. Our members range in all ages from young to old, from men, women, boys and girls, and all shooting a range of bows from compound, recurve or longbows. We offer a probationary period for potential new members where you can decide if this type of archery is for you and have a range of club equipment for use during this period. We have members accredited to teach the correct methods of using a bow and welcome anyone with an interest in this sport.
